Interesting Article

I've read 2 articles regarding the next generation of workers and how business is going to have to change how they do things. The trend is towards " binge work" It is a neat concept of how newer workers plan on working hard for a few years and then taking off to travel and learn versus 9 to 5 for 35 and then out. I think some is due to not wanting to slave for 35 years and some may also be due to companies stopping pensions and downsizing. If I am saving for retirement in a matching 401k that stays with me wherever I land next I don't have to stay put for a certain length of time to be vested. I also think younger workers are realizing the ridiculousness of buying into the big house big morgage nonsustainable lifestyle. If you don't have those things tying you down you are positioned to be able to pack up and go. I think it is an awesome lifestyle and would remove a lot of burnout that comes with doing the same thing for 30 years. It will be interesting to see how the economy adapts to this as companies have always been able to call the shots. It seems to me that the insecurity about social security and business focusing only on profit has started the ball rolling.
